As HD McKay continues to grow in 2025, we are expanding our Architectural team to support an increasing and diverse portfolio of high-quality projects across the Northwest and beyond.

A Collaborative, Multi-Disciplinary Environment

This role is based in our Letterkenny office, working within a collaborative team of Architects, Civil & Structural Engineers, Passive House Consultants, and Technologists. Here, you’ll contribute to a broad range of residential, commercial, and public-sector projects, benefiting from the support, insight, and shared expertise of an experienced in-house team.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and delivery of a growing portfolio of residential and commercial projects from concept stage through to post-occupancy review.
  • Develop design outputs across all RIAI work stages.
  • Prepare design presentations, reports, drawings, and documentation for clients and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate client and consultant meetings to support project progress.
  • Ensure all design work complies with planning requirements, building regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, BCAR documentation, and other statutory submissions.
  • Review contractor submissions and undertake site inspections to ensure alignment with contract documentation.
  • Engage in ongoing CPD, training, and skills development through seminars and industry events.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Architecture
  • Membership of RIAI or equivalent professional body
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Ireland
  • Proven experience working under the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014
  • Proficiency in Revit preferred; AutoCAD desirable
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite desirable
